BING ON TCM - JUNE/JULY 2011
After the Bing Crosby marathon earlier this week, I was hoping TCM would be showing a lot more Bing in the summer. Not much going on in June or July, but a little Bing is better than no Bing at all.
Reportedly, TCM will be showing more Universal/Paramount movies this year, so I am hopeful different Bing items will be shown, but here is what we have so far to start out the summer:
JUNE 3 - HIGH SOCIETY (1956)
JUNE 7 - ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS (1964)
JUNE 26 - A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT (1949)
JULY 14 - ROAD TO MOROCCO (1942)

NEWS ALERT:ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS ON BROADWAY
Originally set to close on Aug. 22, Robin and the 7 Hoods — inspired by the Rat Pack movie, and fueled by a Sammy Cahn-Jimmy Van Heusen score — will now run through Aug. 29. Robin and the 7 Hoods features a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (Curtains, Drood) and songs by four-time Academy Award winners Cahn and Van Heusen. Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with musical supervision and vocal and incidental music arrangements by John McDaniel, the Broadway-aimed musical comedy is currently in previews. Opening night is July 30.
